| sTM

Thrombomodulin (sTM) is an overall membrane protein expressed on the surface of endothelial cells and serves as a cofactor of thrombin. It reduces blood clotting by converting thrombin from prothrombin to antithrombin. Thrombomodulin is also expressed on mesothelial cells, monocytes and dendritic cell subsets. Thrombomodulin is encoded by the THBD gene. The molecular mass of this protein is 74kDa. It consists of a single chain with six tandem repeats of EGF-like structures, a serine/threonine spacer and a transmembrane domain.

| Recovery

The recovery of Human sTM spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.
